The energy is at the rendezvous and one is surprised, pleasantly, by the mixdown’s perfection. The sound is totally clean and always puts you in good thoughts (mostly in the morning!).
This barely unknown band, though the only record we heard of deserves those commercial actions on some Jazz/Funk records, takes a particular place in our hearts.
It is one of those findings that encourage you to trust your instinct when you’re walking through the record store lanes. The musicians seem really tight and the voice is still in its personal tone, even in the classical Blues/Jazz style. The singer also writes and her texts reflect an open mind with critical and objective sense, without shadows. The energy is at the rendezvous and one is surprised, pleasantly, by the mixdown’s perfection. The sound is totally clean and always puts you in good thoughts (mostly in the morning!). It is dancing like Funk and full alive like the jazz we love. To be brief, it is an excellent record, some more were still are (three), that should never ever be put with the last Christmas’ sales. Little note: The writer of this article has found this record not very late after she discovered the music of Fela Kuti. The 5th track is an homage to him. Coincidence…
